CHECKING THE NUMBERS. At approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, election results were posted on the door at City Hall, and the anxiously awaiting crowd surged forward to check the numbers.

NO SERIOUS INJURIES. Around 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2009, a car driven by Vicky Ferguson impacted the left rear tire of a DISD school bus as it was northbound on Highway 16 just south of DeLeon and turning left onto CR 449. The school bus was driven by Vicki Morris and carried 10 students. The only apparent injury was to Ferguson, not life threatening and likely caused by the air bag in her car. The school bus was not damaged and no student injuries were reported. The students were kept on board the bus during the accident investigation. DPS Trooper Clint Cole issued Ferguson two citations in connection with the incident. Above we see DISD maintenance supervisor Howard Gifford checking out the bus.
