The warrant charges Auvenshine with a burglary of the DeLeon Veterninary Clinic, which was reported by Dr. Michael Burk on the morning of Tuesday, Sepember 4, following the Labor Day weekend holiday. Approximately $3,000 worth of materials were reported missing.

According to Deputy Fuquay, Auvenshine is currently incarcerated with bond being denied in the Palo Pinto County Jail where he faces additional charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, evading arrest, two counts of theft and criminal mischief.

Auvenshine will likely not stand trial in Comanche County until procedings in Palo Pinto County and perhaps other jurisdictions have been completed.

Fuquay noted that Auvenshine was implicated in a one vehicle crash in Stephenville that occurred around 4:00 p.m. on the same Tuesday the Veterninary Clinic burglary was reported.

Various items stolen from the Clinic, as well as Auvenshine's drivers license, were found in the pickup. According to a witness, Auvenshine left the accident scene on foot.

Auvenshine was reported by the Stephenville Empire-Tribune to have been arrested in Palo Pinto County on Saturday, September 8, following an incident around 10:30 a.m. involving a truck being stolen from a convenience store.

A Palo Pinto Sheriffs Deputy in an unmarked car spotted the stolen truck and trailed it. Auvenshine, who was reported to have been driving the truck, then fled deputies in a high speed chase for several miles before crashing on a tree stump in the yard of a residence. Following the crash, he fled on foot into a wooded area and temporarily escaped capture.

For several hours Palo Pinto County Deputies and other law enforcement personnel conducted an intensive house-to-house search of the area that included tracking dogs, mounted deputies, search teams and a DPS helicopter.

After several telephone tips from area residents were received, Auvenshine was finally located hiding in a shed and arrested around 7:15 p.m.

The Stephenville newspaper also reported that Auvenshine is on parole after serving time after conviction on charges of burglary and narcotics possession, and may also face charges in Erath County.
