COMANCHE -- The Commissioners Court met
in regular session on Monday, April 23, to consider a lengthy agenda.
Judge James Arthur presided and
Commissioners Kenneth Feist, Bobby Schuman and Jimmy Dale Johnson
attended and participated. Commissioner Garry Steele was unable to
attend due to illness.
A relatively large crowd filled the
County Courtroom, many of whom were interested in the controversy over
whether Petit Road, near the Energy community, should be considered a
county or private road. For some this was the third Commissioners
meeting in a row they had attended. >>Full Story<< |

COMANCHE -- Rural area residents
southeast and west of Comanche should soon begin seeing work crews
laying water lines along many highways and county roads around Gustine
and Sidney, as the second phase of a second large expansion of the
service area of the county's primary rural water supply gets under
way.
That, at least, was the expectation
expressed by several officials at a meeting last Friday evening, April
20. The Comanche County Water Supply Corporation held its seventeenth
annual membership meeting at the Comanche Community Center. >>Full Story<< |

COWBOY
DAY. The kindergarten students from DeLeon Elementary --
including Natasha Leal, Ethan Cogburn, Skylar Riffe and Abigail
Guiterrez -- celebrated “Cowboy Day” last Friday, by donning hats,
boots, and scarves, and racing stick horses, throwing horse shoes,
roping and branding. The highlight of the day was the opportunity
to ride “Peanut” a real horse belonging to teacher Cindy Abbey. |
