The Bearcats played extremely well in the first half of play against the Tolar Rattlers and with the help of two L.C. Williams touchdowns were able to go into the locker room at the half with a 14-7 lead over the favored Rattlers.

After both teams came back to the field of play, DeLeon’s kryptonite was revealed when they had two costly fumbles that Tolar was able to turn into 14 points which gave them the momentum for the remainder of the game.

Tolar would go on to score the final points of the game in the fourth quarter and wrap up the game with a 14-29 win over the Bearcats in DeLeon’s first district game.

Although the Bearcats lost the game, they were able to produce more offense than Tolar, even though DeLeon was unable to complete a pass in the game. The Bearcats piled up 301 yards on the ground while the Rattlers amassed 246 yards of total offense.

Offensively, the Bearcats were led by Williams who rushed for 219 yards on 27 carries and scored two touchdowns.

The leading tacklers for the Bearcats were Matt Nowlin with 11 tackles and M.J. Stewart with 10 tackles. L.C. Williams was also able to contribute defensively with two interceptions.

This Friday, the Bearcats will travel to Ranger to face off with the 1-1 Ranger Bulldogs. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
