The DeLeon City Council met in a nearly

IN
MEMORY. The DeLeon Public Library recently commissioned a bench
for the front sidewalk in honor of the late Clyde Brinson.
Brinson, who passed away in May of this year, was a long-time
supporter of the library, and library personnel wanted his family
to know how much they appreciated him. Pictured above is Shirley
Brinson, Clyde’s widow, who was on hand for the unveiling. |

SETTING
FIRST AMPHITHEATER STEEL. On Monday morning, July 31, workers
began erecting the steel skeleton for the amphitheater building.
This photo captures the first beam being set on the pedestal
foundation. The ticket building, which is also under construction,
can be seen in the background. Contractor Scott Hively estimated
that the entire amphitheater frame could be completed by week’s
end. |
