Jeremey Lindley, the DeLeon Bearcat quarterback, was invited to travel to Australia and Hawaii to play in two all-star football games.

Although they had to pay for the flight, the experience of traveling to another country has made a lasting impact on Lindley. “It was really neat to see a different lifestyle and culture,” said Lindley.

Lindley’s team played two games while in Australia. They were able to win their first game by a final score of 32-12, but lost in their second game 24-0.

In the first game, Lindley threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 140 yards in the second game.

“The game was much faster than what I was used to,” said Lindley, “but once I made the adjustment, I was able to perform well."

“The best part about the entire trip were the relationships that I was able to develop with my teammates during our stay overseas,” said Lindley.

He also states that playing the games really has him fired up for the upcoming Bearcat season. With a move down to the 1A division, the Bearcats are looking to have a much improved season with Lindley as the field general.
