The
newest DeLeon City Council members were sworn-in during a regularly
scheduled meeting, Thursday, May 25, 2006, before a relatively large
group of spectators.
Due to the size of the crowd (most there to watch a friend or family
member being sworn in) the meeting was conducted in the City Hall

only council member absent.

CONCRETE
AT THE CITY PARK. DeLeon’s new mayor, Danny Owen, along with
DeLeon’s most recent former mayor, Jim Adams, the assistant city
secretary, Jamie Welch, and Scott Hively, the contractor, were all
on hand as the first batch of concrete was poured at the new
Festival Park Grounds. This eagerly anticipated moment took on a
celebratory mood as Owen congratulated Adams on overseeing the
park progress so far, and Adams wished Owen well with the rest of
the project. |
