 A public notice published in the
DeLeon Free Press and the Comanche Chief, in January, has generated a
great deal of conversation and speculation recently about the closing
of a portion of CR 459 at Nabors' Lake.
Sallie Hale and Margaret Rodgers are two
lake residents who say they want the road across Nabors' Lake dam "to
stay exactly like it's been" and they're afraid that recent action
taken by other lake lot owners, not the County Commissioners, may

The DeLeon ISD Board of Trustees became
students during their regular monthly meeting held on Monday, April 17
with Mrs. Pat Koonce's fifth grade science students serving as their

We need volunteers to come to the parking lot just south of City Hall
at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, to do work for the widows and
handicapped citizens of our community to prepare their homes for
summer.
Please bring hedge trimmers, pruning saws, chain saw, or clippers,
rake, hoe, shovel, wheel barrow, or whatever you have to work with.
We will work until about 1:00 p.m. Come help us make a difference in
DeLeon.
If you are a widow or handicapped individual and need work completed
to help you get ready for summer weather, call 893-6837. |

On April 12, 2006 The Comanche County Sheriff's Office arrested Johnny
Fred Bachman, 40, of Comanche, for Illegal Dumping, a State Jail

 The
Cisco Loboes came to DeLeon this past Monday and defeated the Bearcats
2-5 in a very big district ball game. If the Bearcats had won, they
were almost guaranteed a playoff position, but the loss placed four
teams fighting for three playoff positions.
